Assistance Provided: “Life Grant” of up to $5,000 is awarded to eligible individuals ages 18-30 diagnosed with a life-threatening illness for fulfillment of lifetime goal, dream, or project that will contribute to community or individual’s life.

Dream Hope Believe Foundation

Past Deadline: April 1, 2013, Next Application Cycle- unknown

Assistance Provided: Grants provided for the benefit of children under 18 who have lost a parent to cancer and reside in the United States. Grants must be specific requests such as day care, tuition, counseling. Grant checks are paid directly to third-party provider. Grant checks are NOT paid to applicant.

Application Procedure: Application must include name, address, and phone number of third-party provider who will receive payment. Successful applicants may be asked for a copy of the deceased parent’s death certificate.


Modest Needs

Assistance Provided: “Self-Sufficiency Grant ” of $750 or 3.75% of annual income, whichever is greater. Payment is made directly to the creditor. Lifetime limit of three (3) assistance grants per household.

Eligibility Requirements: For low-income families who can generally pay their bills but are experiencing financial hardship due to a single, unexpected expense such as cancer-related medical bills.



Assistance Provided:  Financial assistance of up to $500 for a specific need. Applicant does NOT receive direct cash payment. Netwish pays bills on behalf of the applicant or issues a gift certificate.


Surviving and Moving Forward

Assistance Provided: Grants for young adult cancer survivors for post-treatment financial need, including but not limited to, rent, utilities, car and health insurance premiums,  current and outstanding medical bills, student loans, gym memberships, and family-building expenses.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be free of cancer and completed active treatment OR one year following completion of planned therapy OR in remission on maintenance therapy, be between the ages 17-39 at the time of Part One application,  and are US residents or citizens. For 2014 application cycle, qualifying age range will change to ages 21 through 39.

Application Process: Two part on-line application procedure. Part One is available on June 17, 2013 at 12 PM. Part One is due on July 19, 2013 at 5 PM. Selected applicants are invited to submit Part Two by August 9, 2013. Part Two will be due by mid-September 2013. Grant winners will be advised in mid- November 2013.
